The Musée national suisse at the Château de Prangins is one of our favourites. Located just a few minutes outside of Nyon, this 18th century castle overlooking Lake Léman is surrounded by exquisite gardens and hosts one of the Swiss National Museums.
We’ve been there many times with the children because it’s one of the most interactive and kid-friendly museums in the area, and also for some fun birthday parties that the children had been invited to.
If you’d like to visit and take part in some special guided tours or kids workshops, here’s some upcoming dates for your diary:
- 07.10.2012 at 10:15 – 11:30 Guided Tour of the kitchen garden in French: “Le potager de mois en mois: hervis, panais, macerons et autres racines”, with Bernard Messerli – Conservateur des jardins.
Discover some of the ancient roots and vegetables that long ago helped people get through the hard, cold winters. Which ones were they ? How were they preserved and cooked ? The visit will end with a tasting of these historic vegetables !
